Doodle Jump was originally created in 2009 by Lima Sky for iOS. It quickly became one of the most downloaded mobile games of all time, selling over 15 million copies in its first two years and inspiring countless clones and spiritual successors.
The original concept was deceptively simple: a hand-drawn character (nicknamed "The Doodler") automatically jumps when landing on platforms. The player controls only left/right movement via the accelerometer — gravity and momentum do the rest.
Our OpenProjects version brings the same addictive gameplay to the browser with a modern dark theme, tilt controls, procedural background music, and global leaderboards.

🎮 How to Play
The frog jumps automatically when it lands on a platform. Your only job is to steer it left and right:

Moving ↔
Slides left and right. Time your jump — it moves faster at higher altitudes.
Breakable
Crumbles after one bounce. You still jump off it, but it disappears immediately.

Launches you 1.75× higher than a normal jump. Look for the swirl icon.
Cloud ☁️
Fades away with each landing. Jump quickly before it vanishes completely.

You can also jump on top of monsters to stomp them if your frog is falling directly onto them from above — just like the original!
💡 Pro Tips

Stay centered. Don't drift too far to the sides — you lose visibility of incoming platforms and have less reaction time.

Never stop moving. Stationary frogs miss moving platforms. A constant gentle lean keeps you in control.

Shoot early. Monsters appear near platforms. Shoot as soon as you see them before you land nearby.

Use the wrap. Walking off the right edge teleports you to the left — this is intentional! Use it to reach platforms on the far side.

Prioritize Jetpack. Of all power-ups, Jetpack gives the biggest altitude boost. Always grab it if it's remotely reachable.

Calibrate your tilt. Hold your phone at a natural angle before starting — the game reads your current position as center.

On iOS 13+, websites must explicitly ask for DeviceOrientation permission. Tap "ENABLE TILT SENSOR" when prompted on the start screen. Once granted, tilt away!
Yes! Use the Left/Right arrow keys (or A/D) on desktop. On mobile without a tilt sensor, the game falls back to a virtual tilt based on any available motion data.
Yes. After each game, enter your name and hit SAVE to submit your score to the global Top 100 leaderboard visible to all players.
